Bucksworkability Employers Group on Disability

The Employers forum in Bucks is a group of like minded proactive employers who meet to discuss and share practice on issues relating to disability and employment.

The aims of the group are:

  • To provide an unbiased and confidential forum to discuss relevant topics.
  • To share practices and provide opportunities to take on new ideas which have made a difference for other local organisations.
  • To raise awareness regarding disability and local/national initiatives or services.
  • To allow like minded employers to network and to enable Buckinghamshire to become an even more forward-thinking County in relation to disability and employment.

Current members include representatives from the NHS, local councils, retail outlets, private health care, local colleges and universities, hotels, waste management services, Business Link and Job Centre plus.

The group meets quarterly and during these meetings there is a key discussion topic which is often presented to the group by guest speakers. Examples of previous guest speakers include representatives from the Job Centre, Bucks-Mind and people with disabilities themselves.  Other relevant local issues are also discussed giving members the opportunity to focus on pertinent topics.

Membership is free and all are welcome.
